The pictured stub-end with a non-revenue service platform was located at the west end of 7th Avenue Southwest, and existed until 2012. At the time of this photo the 8 Street Southwest Station was the last stop for the Blue Line (202). The Red Line (201) was already extended toward the Northwest, hence terminating trains of the Blue Line couldn't change ends at the 8 Street Station without interfering with the Red Line trains. The stub-end tracks were built west of the Red Line turnoff to accommodate the Blue Line relays.

The Blue Line was extended to the west to 69th Street in 2012. The Downtown West-Kerby Station is now built in place of the pictured service platform.

Красная линия (маршрут 201) при этом уже была продлена на северо-запад города. Т.о. оборачивающиеся на станции 8 Street поезда Синей линии оказывались на пути сквозных поездов Красной линии. Чтобы решить проблему, к западу от стрелки ответвления Красной линии были построены тупиковые пути для оборота поездов Синей линии.

В 2012 г. Синия линия будет продлена на запад до станции 69th Street. На месте служебной платофрмы появится станция Downtown West-Kerby Station.
