На автобусный маршрут M14, проходящий по территории боро Манхэттен, выпущен первый в Нью-Йорке сочлененный электробус. Всего на данном маршруте будет работать 15 таких машин. Это первая партия электробусов, непосредственно приобретенных нью-йоркским транспортным оператором МТА, который в настоящий момент уже арендует 10 электробусов, работающих в разных районах города. Запуск сочлененных электробусов является частью масштабной городской программы, которая предусматривает поставку в 2020-2024 годах пятисот электробусов (включая сто сочлененных) и оборудование восьми площадок для их технического обслуживания. Общая стоимость программы составляет 1,1 миллиарда долларов США.

According to the New York Times, the New York mayor Bill de Blasio announced the project to construct a 25,75 km-long tramway line by 2024. The line will be built via the eastern bank of the East River, connecting Brooklyn and Queens. Trams will operate in mixed traffic with speeds around 20 km/h.
